The JBL Clip 5 is the 2024/2025 evolution of JBL’s most portable speaker. It maintains the iconic “clip-and-go” design but introduces a significant power boost and, for the first time, full app support for the Clip series.

## Key Upgrades: Clip 5 vs. Clip 4

• Louder, Deeper Sound: The jump from 5W to 7W may seem small, but on a speaker this size, it provides a noticeably “fuller” sound with better bass response, especially when used outdoors where sound tends to dissipate.

• Redesigned Carabiner: The clip itself has been completely reworked with a wider opening. It can now latch onto thicker bag straps, belt loops, or even some bicycle handlebars that the Clip 4 struggled to fit.

• App & Custom EQ: This is the most significant functional change. Unlike the Clip 4, the Clip 5 connects to the JBL Portable App, allowing you to choose from EQ presets or create your own 5-band custom EQ to tweak the bass and treble.

• Auracast Support: It features a dedicated Auracast button. This allows you to wirelessly pair two Clip 5s for stereo sound or link it with other modern JBL speakers (like the Flip 7 or Go 4) to play the same music simultaneously.

• Playtime Boost: If you’re on a long hike and running low on battery, you can activate this mode in the app. It optimizes performance to give you up to 3 extra hours of life, though it does slightly reduce the bass to save power.
