JBL FLIP 7-SQUAD

The JBL Flip 7 is the latest evolution in JBL’s most popular speaker line, officially released in April 2025. While it retains the classic “burrito” shape of the Flip 6, it introduces several “life-proof” and “audiophile-lite” features that make it a significant upgrade for 2026.

## Major Upgrades: Flip 7 vs. Flip 6

• AI Sound Boost: This is the headline feature for 2026. The speaker uses a real-time algorithm to analyze the incoming audio signal and adjust the driver movement. This results in deeper bass and twice the perceived loudness at maximum volume with almost zero distortion compared to the Flip 6.

   

• Lossless USB-C Audio: For the first time, you can plug the Flip 7 directly into a laptop or phone via USB-C to play uncompressed, lossless audio. This bypasses Bluetooth compression for much higher fidelity when you’re stationary.

   

• Drop-Proof Design: While previous models were water/dustproof, the Flip 7 is officially rated as drop-proof from 1 meter onto concrete. JBL reinforced the rubber end-caps to ensure the passive radiators don’t crack or pop out upon impact.

   

• PushLock™ Accessory System: The old “string loop” is gone. It has been replaced by a physical button-lock system. In the box, you now get an interchangeable carabiner and a wrist strap that you can swap out depending on whether you’re hiking or just carrying it.

   

• 7-Band Equalizer: Through the JBL Portable App, you now have a full 7-band EQ (up from 3-band). This allows for much finer tuning of the mids and highs to suit your specific music taste.

   

• Auracast™ vs. PartyBoost: The Flip 7 uses the new Auracast standard. This allows it to broadcast to an unlimited number of other Auracast JBL speakers (like the Xtreme 4 or Charge 6).

   

  Note: It is not backward compatible with the Flip 6 or older speakers that use “PartyBoost.
